- JSML also stands for JScript Markup Language.
JSML (Java Speech API Markup Language) is a set of markup codes and symbols for speech synthesis -- text-to-speech (TTS) -- in voice Web browsers and
voice enabled e-mail. JSML includes text description tags that describe the structure of the document and speaker directive tags that control the emphasis, pitch, rate, and pronunciation of text. JSML and another markup language called Spoken Text Markup Language (STML) have been combined to form Sable, a markup language for directing text to speech synthesis.
